Coverts and Casts – William J. Schaldach – 1943. A first printing of the first edition. Signed by the author on first prelim page. Taped in is an envelope containing a letter, dare I say, a bit of a spicy letter, from Schaldach to Miss Alice Duggan. The letter is on Field & Stream letterhead and is signed by Schaldach. Tales of field sports and angling in words and pictures, with chapters on trout fishing, woodcock, quail, grouse, upland gunning and more. Red cloth boards with gilt illustrations and lettering. Slight bumping at lower right corner, and otherwise only very minor wear. Internally fine. I have half a mind to keep this one, so buy it before I change my mind. The book is exactly as pictured.
