1 in stock
The Practical Angler – W.C. Stewart – 1905. The book a later edition of the classic from Adam and Charles Black, London. This unique copy inscribed by angling author Richard C. Hunt to angling author Alfred Miller, better known as Sparse Grey Hackle. Both members of The Anglers’ Club of New York. Later presented by Sparse to Milton C. Weiler Sr., this from his private library. Weiler Sr. was one of the premier sporting artists of his time, known for his work with the Derrydale Press and many other sporting publishers. He was also an avid outdoorsman, with deep roots to the Anglers’ Club of New York and the DeBruce Fly Fishing Club in the Catskills. Book with blue cloth boards and gilt lettering and small illustration at spine. Cover with some marks, wear, bumping, and rubbing, most notably at top of spine. Signs of stain at page edges, but no signs within or otherwise. Ever so slight looseness at front hinge, but again no signs of cracking. Very good condition. The book is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
