Signed on the title page by the author’s wife, Julia, and presented to Frederic Colie, a long-time member, officer, and president of the esteemed club. Laid in is a booklet titled ‘The Tuscarora Club of Millbrook, NY: Member Guidelines’, a newspaper clip about Rosalie Colie, a noted fly-tyer and angler herself, a copied article about the club, and a letter from sporting bookseller Dave Foley to Frederic Colie. Map endpapers. Contains 24 numbered pages of text plus 27 titled B&W photo plates and 4 pages of mounted color prints after paintings by Ogden Pleissner. Tales from sporting days at the private Catskill-area club. Contains membership lists from 1934 and 1964. Early members included Messers, Hewitt, Ingraham, duPont, Leisenring and others. Greenish-blue paper-covered boards with black wrap at spine and gilt lettering. A few marks to boards and mild shelf wear. Some light foxing in margins. VG condition. The book is exactly as pictured.
