The Strand Magazine – August 1901 – no. 128, vol. 22. This edition of Strand Magazine, still in the original blue wrapper, features the first appearance in print (thus, 1st edition) of the Sherlock Holmes story “The Hound of the Baskervilles”, arguably the most popular Sherlock Holmes tale published by Arthur Conan Doyle. Extremely rare in the original form. This was the first part of a four-part series. Some wear and soiling to cover, rubbing, etc. Internally, some folded corners, a few minor tears, some staining at lower edge in parts of book, and other general wear. Pasted in on a blank page is an old soap ad with color imagery on front. Otherwise, the publication is in black and white. Overall, good condition, and better than most Strand Magazines of similar age, which have generally been rebound. The book is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
