The Story of the Tahanto Fishing Club – Cape Cod, MA – Winslow H. Tuttle. A privately printed first, and likely only, edition. This short and rare publication details the history of the Tahanto Fishing Club on Cape Code, Massachusetts, as well as proceedings regarding the land, the use of resources, and members over time (from the 1880s to the 1960s). Bearing the stamp of Walter Burr. Walter Burr was an active member of the Connecticut Fly Fisherman’s Assoc. for many years while teaching at University of Connecticut in Storrs. He later retired to Cape Cod, where he was actively involved with Cape Cod Trout Unlimited for over a decade. He is perhaps most well known for being the originator of Burr’s Bright, a dry fly pattern. He submitted it to the United Fly Tiers in the late 60’s, and the editor of their round table gave it the name. Notably, the original design included polar bear fur for the tail. His overall reputation earned him a spot as a panelist at Theodore Gordon Fly Fisher’s Annual Dinners. Three pages, with map illustration and drawing of a reel and fly. This appears to be a draft copy of the extended version. Bound with staple at upper-left corner. In very good condition. The item is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
