A rare first edition in a custom fine binding of 1/2 leather with marbled boards and endpapers. Laid in is a handwritten note stating “With the Compliments, Regards and Esteem of the Author, JH Henshall”, signed. With gilt top page edge and multicolor matching page marker. Gilt lettering and accents at spine. An occasional light spot of foxing, mainly adjacent to illustrations. Overall, likely fine condition. Bookplate of O.S.J. Alexander pasted to front EP.
