Leaping Silver – Lee Wulff – 1940. A signed, limited, first edition of just 540 copies. This unnumbered, possibly as a presentation copy, as it bears an inscription to limitation page. However, the signature at the bottom is difficult to discern and does not look like the usual suspects: Lee, his wife Joan, or the publisher George Stewart. B&W photographs throughout, with a mounted color frontispiece of a leaping salmon reproduced from one of Wulff’s paintings. A well illustrated book which covers natural history of salmon, where salmon lie in rivers and pools, guides, tackle, flies, fishing techniques, fishing stories. Quarter leather with cloth boards and gilt lettering. Lacks case. Some rubbing and minor flaking to leather at spine, as well as minor shelf wear to cloth boards. Browning to EPs (mostly acid marks), and occasional foxing otherwise. VG condition. The book is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
