Fisherman’s Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter Set – Roderick Haig-Brown – Signed 1st Eds. w/ Letters & Provenance
1 in stock
Fisherman’s Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter ‘Seasons’ Set – Roderick Haig-Brown – 1951, 1959, 1964, and 1954. Published by William Morrow and Co., except Fisherman’s Spring (Collins). All four are first editions, each signed from Roderick Haig-Brown to Martin Bovey, with short inscriptions. Bovey was a member of the Anglers’ Club of New York and was an avid fly angler, conservationist, TU president, and even filmmaker, with appearances in short and now classic angling films by Edward Hewitt and John Alden Knight. Tan cloth boards with brown homestead illustration. In addition, laid in are three handwritten letters and one typed letter from RHB to Bovey, all signed by RHB, detailing a variety of fishing topics, visits, and life in general. Also laid in is a copy of a letter from Bovey to the Fly Casters announcing that RHB will be at one of their meetings in 1961, at the Harvard Club. Fisherman’s Fall is with dust jacket, and the other three are missing the DJs. A one-of-a-kind set detailing trips and tactics for Pacific salmon, steelhead and trout on the fly–a classic angling set. All books with some minor flaws, such as light cover wear or small, limited stains, as shown. Back of Fall DJ with some foxing. Spring with cracking at block at tile page, shown. Summer, Fall, and Winter each likely near fine, and Spring VG. The books are exactly as shown. Any questions, please ask.
