Dersu, the Trapper – VK Arseniev – 1939. A quite rare 1st edition with original covers. Dersu Uzala was a 1923 memoir by the Russian explorer Vladimir Arsenyev, concerning his travels in the Russian Far East (Manchuria and Siberia) with the Nanai hunter Dersu Uzala. The expeditions spanned science, exploration, hunting, trapping, and more. The manuscript was translated from Russian and published in 1939 by Martin Secker & Warburg. With tales of grouse to tigers and everything in-between. With 3 maps and numerous illustrations in B&W.
In original blue textured boards with gilt embossed lettering at spine in label form. Cover faded, with some shelf wear. Paper at front hinge internally cracked, with half-title half detached. Some foxing, mainly limited to page edges, EPs, and first 15 or so pages. Good condition. The book is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
