The Sun Stood Still – Arthur MacDougall – 1939 Signed 1st Ed. w/ DJ, letter, & Provenance
1 in stock
The Sun Stood Still – Arthur MacDougall – 1939. A signed first edition, released in limited run, this numbered 108 on FFEP. Inscribed ‘On the Upper Kennebec’, and dated. In original dust jacket. This from the private library of the Weiler family. Milton C. Weiler Sr. was one of the premier sporting artists of his time, known for his work with the Derrydale Press and many other sporting publishers. He was also an avid outdoorsman, with deep roots to the Anglers’ Club of New York and the DeBruce Fly Fishing Club in the Catskills. Notably, his illustrations were used in multiple MacDougall books. Letter from the publisher to Weiler laid in, discussing illustrations, publishing timelines, etc. Another gem from the classic Dud Dean stories from the woods and waters of Maine. DJ with tear at hinge and some soiling–fair. Book with browning to EPs, minor cover wear, and slight lean. VG+ condition. The book is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
