Set of 3 Roderick Haig-Brown Angling Titles with Milton Weiler Provenance
1 in stock
Set of 3 books from Roderick Haig-Brown: Return to the River: A Story Of The Chinook Run (1941; Morrow 1st Ed.), A River Never Sleeps (1946; Morrow 1st Ed. w/ DJ), and The Western Angler (1947; Morrow 1st Ed. w/ DJ). These titles from the personal library of sporting artist Milton Weiler, known for his work with the Derrydale Press and many other sporting publishers, as well as with RHB. Notably, Weiler worked with Haig-Brown and was a friend and fishing companion. A River Never Sleeps is inscribed to Weiler by Haig-Brown, and signed; additionally, a handwritten and signed letter from Haig-Brown to Weiler is laid is. The other two titles have the signature of Milton C. Weiler within, and The Western Angler has an article from The Treasury of Angling titled Brown Trout laid in, with accompanying ads. Overall, a unique set with deep sporting provenance. A River Never Sleeps is in fine condition with fair DJ, with the other two in near fine condition due to cover blems (Western Angler DJ poor due to tear, etc.). The book is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
