A Sportsman’s Scrapbook – John C. Phillips – 1928. A first edition, nicely rebound in sporting-themed boards, with original dust jacket. Laid in is a letter from Phillips to Lewis Webb Hill, with mention of Frank Benson and other topics and signed at the bottom. Hill compiled Classics Of The American Shooting Field with John C. Phillips and artist Frank Benson, and he was also a renowned decoy carver and sportsman on Cape Cod. This from Hill’s library, and then owned by a New England sporting author, decoy expert, and ornithological enthusiast. This title filled with tales of shooting stands from around the world, from ducks and waterfowl to big game. DJ with some chips at edges, creases, small tears, and other wear. Book with some browning to EPs, else quite clean. Blue boards with some marks beneath DJ, and fading at spine. Overall, VG+ book in good DJ. The book is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
