Making a Fishery – Frederic Halford – 1895 Signed 1st Ed.
1 in stock
Making a Fishery – Frederic Halford – 1895. A first edition from a renowned angling author and fly fisher. This a bit of a curiosity. Bound in full leather, with gilt accents and marbled EPs. Green silk marker. Approx. 11.5″x7.75″. All of its characteristics suggest that it is the limited edition of 150, however, the page stating such is not present. Thus, potentially believed to be a publisher’s proof copy from Horace Cox, presented from Halford to Arthur Gibbey, signed by the author below a brief inscription. Interesting provenance, bearing the angling bookplate of Col. Henry Siegel, a Derrydale author. All plates presented (mounted), in B&W. A stunning book in fine condition. Some bumping at corners and wear to leather at hinges near ends of spine. The book is exactly as pictured. Any questions, please ask.
